Q:
How Should I prepare my files?
A:If this is your First order we recommend ordering a low volume to
be sure color and quality of your art are acceptable. All files should
be saved in a PC compatible format with the proper extensions. They
should be in CMYK and no less then 600 DPI.
Acceptable formats are Illustrator, Photoshop, Freehand, PowerPoint,
Publisher, Fireworks, PageMaker,
TIF, JPG, GIF,PDF or
MS Word (Not Recommended).
All fonts must be converted to outlines (if you are sending an illustrator
file) or emailed to us if useing a program where converting to outlines
is not possible. Otherwise we are not responsible for incorrect fonts
being printed.
If your artwork contains a photograph the quality will be higher on
a polypropylene label verses a paper one.
Do NOT save or export your artwork with
anti-aliasing.
We also recommend you Do NOT use:
Gradients
Extremely small type
Neon colors
Revese text with thin or small type (i.e.
colored background with white type)
Photographs
of people or water
Process color
printing combines different percentages of cyan, magenta, and yellow
ribbon to create all other colors. Any color that does not
contain 100% or 0% of each ribbon will be printed with a dot pattern
(dithering or Halftoning). If a color is printed with 100% or
0% of each ribbon, it is considered to be fully saturated.
Always be sure to examine the CMYK values of your colors in particular
when requiring a shade of blue.
If cyan is 100% any value of magenta over 55% will produce purple
not blue. When using programs like Microsoft word the default blue
will come out purple we suggest changing to 57 red 178 green 255 blue
in RGB.
Please
Note: Although you can use the CMYK sliders to adjust
process colors in PhotoShop and Illustrator, after following the
Color Setup procedure, you must still use the RGB sliders for
fully saturated colors.
Process color
printing is used if the application requires many colors on each label
and/or process images with Halftoning.
Here are all the
fully saturated colors that can be printed with their RGB values.
